Students who break the rules would often face punishment by teachers to deter them from doing it again but these educators are taking that to the extreme.
A viral video surfaced recently showing a few teachers throwing confiscated mobile phones into a fire pit despite the pleas and cries of students in the background begging them not to do so.
In the recording, it can be clearly seen that the educators threw several mobile devices, including an iPhone into a barrel that was raging with fire.
The video was first uploaded on TikTok before it was re-uploaded again on Instagram by mStar.
As their phones were thrown, several of the students can be heard screaming and crying at the sight of the incident.
However, netizens were unsure of the exact location where the video was recorded with some of the commenters saying that it might be in Malaysia, while others say it might be in Indonesia.
But there wasn’t any doubt that netizens who saw the video were furious with many saying that whether the students are right or wrong, burning their phones doesn’t actually solve the problem.
Some even said that it might lead to a bigger problem as the students might want to take revenge later on.
There were those who also pointed out that these devices might hold some irreplaceable memories for the students that’ll be forever lost.
