A man was confronted by several employees of a shop for allegedly stealing hand sanitizers.
The altercation happened in an unspecified mall and a video of the incident had gone viral.
The video was recorded by a TikTok user before being re-uploaded to the Facebook page by Sukan Star TV.
In the video, the two individuals were arguing on the escalator in a shopping mall.
According to the video, the worker only asked for a receipt from the man to prove that he did not steal three bottles of hand sanitizer.
Not wanting to cooperate, the dispute led to a loud quarrel between both parties, drawing gazes from onlookers.
It was not long before two male employees from the shop arrived at the scene, although they did not appear to say much.
In contrast, the female employee was most agitated, as she kept hurling verbal volleys at the man.
Eventually, the man gave back the hand sanitizers and the case was taken to another area to be resolved amicably.
Netizens praised the brave actions of the female employee who performed her responsibilities to the utmost.
They also criticized the man for failing to stand up to the truth.
Others defended the female employee for being so irate.
They noted some shops would force employees to pay for breakage, a customer’s theft, or a shortage in the cash drawer.
At the same time, netizens said some people steal not because they can’t afford it.

The man was also blamed for arguing with a woman.
