Rising Covid-19 Cases: Government Likely To Tighten SOP If Situation Worsens
The rise of education clusters are particularly alarming amid the latest surge in Covid-19 cases.

The government is expected to re-tighten standard operating procedures (SOPs) if cases involving the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic increase over time.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new cases on Saturday were 9,117 cases which is the highest record in three months.
According to him, it makes a cumulative total of 2,904,131 cases.

The increase in the number of such cases has caused concern among the people in the country.
Furthermore, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin via Twitter said on Saturday that the new Covid-19 cases are likely to increase sharply in the next few weeks.
He said the expectation is based on the high infection rate from the Omicron variant wave at this point of time.

The latest surge in Covid-19 cases has put the spotlight on the education sector as one of the reasons that contributed to the increase.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has decided that students from non-examination classes, who returned home on holiday in conjunction with the Chinese New Year, will not be allowed to return to their hostel.
Its minister Datuk Dr. Radzi Jidin said the decision was made to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection among SPM candidates.
It’s also to let them take the examination in a safe and orderly manner.
