A 9-year-old boy with mitral atresia (a rare congenital heart defect) hopes to visit Legoland in his lifetime.
Unexpectedly, his wish attracted the attention of Tunku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ) Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
In addition to helping the boy to realize his dream, TMJ also promised to bear the boy’s needs.
The Crown Prince uploaded two screenshots of WhatsApp chat on Instagram, in which he instructed the Pontian district office to arrange the cost of the boy’s family to go to Legoland, including transportation itineraries and accommodation.
TMJ also promised to pay for the travel and living expenses of the boy’s family.

Not Much Longer To Live
According to an earlier report, Mohd. Adam Amsyar was diagnosed with mitral valve atresia two years ago.
Mohd. Adam suffers from dyspnea (shortness of breath), with swelling on his face and blue spots on his body.
His life expectancy is not long, and it became his last wish to travel to Legoland.

His father, Abd Rahman, said the public hospital specialist doctor who treated his son informed him that the disease is very rare.
Accordingly, there are only three patients, including his youngest son, that had been diagnosed with the disease in the country.
Adam’s heart disease was diagnosed by doctors when he was seven years old.
What’s even sadder was that the doctor informed Abd Rahman that he could not perform surgery to correct Adam’s heart condition, because it would be very risky.
I cried when the doctor said there was nothing that could be done. I was told to come to the hospital often for follow-up check-ups other than taking good care of Adam, don’t let him get tired and always make him happy.

They commended the Crown Prince for being down to earth and close to the rakyat, despite being of noble birth.

Others commented that the nation would be better if more royalties could imitate TMJ’s kind-heartedness.
It’s not the first time that TMJ had been generous to the rakyat.
In 2018, he sponsored shoppers – up to RM3,000 per person – at Aeon Tebrau City in Johor Baru.
