Only Small Family Gatherings Allowed For Year-End Holidays, Covid-19 Self-Test Mandatory
This is a precaution following the rising concern over the new Omicron variant.

Following a live press conference by the Health Minister yesterday, YB Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that large-scale gatherings for Christmas and New Year’s Eve are not permitted during these times.
For private gatherings with close friends and family, is, however, allowed with a condition. They must undergo a Covid-19 self-test first, before going to the events.

The press conference yesterday was made to address the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic scene in Malaysia nowadays.
Also confirming in detail the second case of the Omicron variant on an 8-year-old girl in Malaysia traveling from Lagos, Nigeria, Khairy also announced precautions that should be taken against this new variant.
The decision included no mass gathering and also the need for booster vaccination doses.
This involves the announcement of mandatory booster shots for Sinovac recipients and for other recipients aged 60 and above. Failure to do so by February 2022 will revoke the ‘fully vaccinated’ status on their MySejahtera App.
