HONOR has recently come out with the HONOR 50, their latest flagship phone that boasts a beautiful screen, great video and photo capturing capabilities all wrapped in a premium package.
The price for the HONOR 50 starts at RM1,699 and it comes in multiple colours:
- Midnight Black
- Frost Crystal
- Emerald Green
- HONOR Code
Here’s why this device should be on your radar if you’re on the hunt for a new smartphone:
The multiple cameras
If you’re into photography, you might want to check out the HONOR 50 because it has a 4 camera setup (wide, ultrawide, macro and depth) including a 108MP main camera.
What’s interesting is the dual-ring design used to house all these cameras. On top you have the 108MP main sensor while everything else, including the flash sits at the bottom. As for the front, HONOR has put in a 32MP camera with a 90o viewing angle if you’re into taking group selfies.
Made for vloggers
Besides taking photos, the HONOR 50 is a great device if you’re a vlogger as the phone has been tailored to make your video shooting experience a breeze.
The HONOR 50 offers users flexibility to shoot content from different angles and perspectives and you can change between cameras with six multi-video shooting modes that use the front and rear cameras at the same time.
It’s a one-stop vlogging experience, where you can switch camera modes without pausing or stop the recording.
The device also allows you to apply beauty mode, capture photographs from videos, use pre-set video story templates and pair with HONOR Earbuds 2 Lite as a wireless microphone during video capture.
A pretty fast screen
The HONOR 50 has a 6.57-inch 75° Super Curved Screen that curves to the edge of the phone, creating a seamless design all the way to sides of the device.
And it’s not just a pretty face either, as the 50’s screen has a fast 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz for that buttery smooth scrolling.
A powerhouse of a phone
The HONOR 50’s processor packs a punch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset which they say improves both CPU and GPU performance by 45% and AI processing power by 123% compared with the previous generation.
They’ve also have included the graphic acceleration technology – GPU Turbo X, which HONOR says a delivers a powerful performance even during intense gaming.
This means you’ll get stable frame rates for graphic-intensive games like PUBG without having to worry about the device getting too hot while you’re playing.
All-day battery life and fast charging
Powering the HONOR 50 is a big 4,300mAh battery which should be able to last you throughout the day.
But, if you manage to drain that big battery, the 50 boasts the 66W HONOR SuperCharge technology which HONOR says is able to charge from 0 to 70% in 20 minutes.
It has Google Mobile Services
Yes, you heard that right, the HONOR 50 will have Google Mobile Services, giving you access to apps like Google Play, YouTube and Chrome out of the box which is great if you’re already into Google’s ecosystem.
HONOR has succeeded in confirming cooperation with a number of supplier partners in the early stage. #HONOR50 series will be equipped with Google Mobile Services, which will provide a more comprehensive application environment and extraordinary mobile experience to our customers. pic.twitter.com/rAhByQVAlx
