The U.S. is at it again. This time, using hydrogen peroxide as a way to prevent Covid-19.
However, according to America’s Asthma and Allergy Foundation, this is dangerous and can cause damage to lungs and respiratory system.
The association has given out a warning saying that putting hydrogen peroxide into a nebulizer and breathe it in, which is circulating on social media there, is not a safe alternative to prevent Covid-19.
A concerning and dangerous trend is circulating on social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok. People are breathing in hydrogen peroxide through nebulizers to try to prevent or treat Covid-19.

According to WebMD, hydrogen peroxide is a mild antiseptic used on the skin to prevent infection of minor cuts, scrapes, and burns.
It’s reported by USA Today that the chemical compound is toxic to consume – either by ingestion or inhalation. If it’s inhaled, it can cause irritation on the lungs and respiratory system depending on how diluted it is.
Only use asthma medicine prescribed by your doctor in your nebulizer. Other chemicals can be harmful to your lungs.
