One of the first impressions a tourist gets when arriving in a country comes from the people they meet and fortunately for travelers coming into Malaysia, it’s the people at immigration.
We say fortunately because Malaysia’s main international airport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has been ranked 4th for the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service 2021, according to Skytrax.
Behind Tokyo Narita but ahead of Singapore Changi
Skytrax, famous for ranking airlines and airports, merits the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service award based on ratings of the efficiency, speed and courtesy of immigration staff service, including e-gate service standards.
For 2021, they have also included the Covid-19 protection measures applied to the immigration area.
Tokyo Narita Airport wins the 2021 award for the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service, with Hong Kong International Airport in 2nd and Taiwan Taoyuan Airport in 3rd.
KLIA comes in 4th, ahead of Singapore Changi which came in 5th.
KLIA a winner in previous years
Being in the top 5 for World’s Best Airport Immigration Services comes as no surprise for KLIA and their high level of service.
In fact, they have even topped at number 1 for their immigration experience in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2017.
