Selangor Now Allows Up To 10 Next Of Kin To Attend Burial Of Covid-19 Patient

The state has allowed for more people to attend funerals of Covid-19 patients.

Selangor is now allowing for up to ten Covid-19 next of kin to be at the cemetery’s designated waiting zone during the burial process during Phase One of the National Recovery Plan.

However, those who wish to attend the burial will be required to be fully vaccinated.

Selangor Exco for Islamic Religious Affairs, Consumer Affairs and Halal Industry Ahmad Mughni recently released the guidelines on Facebook which allows for more people to attend the funeral.

VISITING INTEGRATED ISLAMIC CEMETERY SUPERVISED BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES

  1. Visiting the graves of family or relatives allowed for not more than 2 immediate family members at a time and is limited to 20 minutes only.
  2. Burial of non-Covid-19 remains is limited to 10 people only and it’s allowed to bring the imam and his assistants to lead the talkin and tahlil recitations.

Burial of COVID-19 remains

  • Only 10 immediate family members are allowed to enter the cemetery and be in the waiting zone designated for the funeral process which are not in groups.
  • While for the group burial process, only 2 people are allowed to enter the cemetery and be in the designated waiting zone.

VISITING ISLAMIC KARIAH CEMETERY UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE MOSQUE

  1. Visiting the graves of family or relatives not more than 5 immediate family members at a time and is limited to 30 minutes only.
  2. Burial of non-Covid-19 remains is limited to 20 people only and 5 members of the Mosque Committee to pay respects and accompany the deceased as well as lead the recitation of talkin and tahlil after the corpse is buried.

Burial of COVID-19 remains

  • Only a total of 10 immediate family members are allowed to enter the cemetery and be in the waiting zone designated for the funeral process not in groups.
  • While for the group burial process, only 2 people are allowed to enter the cemetery and be in the waiting zone that has been set.
