Bersatu and UMNO not sure who should take what
Malay Mail reported that Bersatu wants one of their party members to become the next Deputy Prime Minister with Gombak MP, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali as one of the names rumoured to be in the running for the position.
Based on the report, Former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has told his successor that the party will withdraw support if Ismail Sabri does not choose someone from Bersatu.
However, there’s stiff competition from UMNO who also want their share of Ministries such as the DPM, Finance Ministry, Education Ministry (MOE), Rural Development Ministry (KPLB) and Agriculture Ministry.
But it’s also reported that they’re willing to compromise with other Ministries, mainly the Health Ministry and Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry.
Bersatu has submitted their list, says Deputy President
Bersatu has listed the names of its suitable members to fill positions in the Cabinet to Ismail Sabri, according to reports.
Deputy President Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu was quoted by MalaysiaKini saying that the list of names had been decided in the party’s Supreme Leadership Council meeting, recently.
In the meeting, we have decided to leave it entirely to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as our president, to propose the names from Bersatu and present them to the Prime Minister. I believe the Prime Minister will decide and bring the list to be informed to the Agong. If this process goes well, of course the Prime Minister will make an announcement after that.
