“No Cabinet Posts, But You Can Join Covid-19 Taskforce & NRC” PM Tells Opposition

It’s unlikely that a unity government will be formed but Opposition MPs are welcome to join in the Covid-19 Taskforce and the National Recovery Council, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said to the media in Kedah that he welcomes the cooperation shown by the Opposition but said that they don’t need to be Ministers to fight Covid-19.
I am thankful that the opposition has given a positive response and they want to discuss and I will talk to them to discuss about their roles but they won’t be in the Cabinet because there’s no plans on making a unity government. To solve the Covid-19 issue, it’s not that you have to be in the Cabinet but there’s a National Covid-19 Taskforce that they can join and can give their suggestions.

He also mentioned opposition MPs can also join the National Recovery Council to revive the nation’s economy.

It’s reported by the Borneo Post that the Prime Minister will be announcing his Cabinet by this week.
