In the nerve-wracking Finals for the Women’s 3m Springboard, Malaysian diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri placed one spot short of bringing Malaysia another Bronze medal and placed in 4th with a score of 326.15.

In her dive earlier today (1 August) at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre, Nur Dhabitah and 11 other finalists took to the board to compete for the top three.

In an interview with Astro Arena, Nur Dhabitah was seen in tears with her quivering voice telling the interviewer:

I’m not crying because I’m sad I didn’t win. I’m crying because I’m really proud of myself.

– Nur Dhabitah Sabri

This comes as an incredible morale booster as she later explains how before the Olympics, she felt the last few months were very difficult for her and that she had lost her confidence.

Although she won’t be bringing home any medals, she will be bringing home the most important honour for a young and promising diver with a long career ahead of her – experience.

Congratulations Nur Dhabitah. You’ve made us proud once again and we’re confident we’ll see you again in the next Olympics!
