As of 28 July, the Ministry of Health has confirmed that 56 individuals at parliament have tested positive for Covid-19.

They are two parliamentarians, six escorting officers, and 48 officers from various ministries.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah stated in his report that 39 individuals or 69.6% of the positive cases are those who have not vaccinated or have yet to receive the complete two doses.

Unrelated cases

He added that based on the investigation conducted, there are no epidemiological connections between the positive cases.

In other words, the cases are not related to one another.

Those who are confirmed to be Covid-19 positive are not allowed to attend the parliamentary sitting.

Four individuals were confirmed Covid-19 positive because of close contact with one or more of the 56 individuals. However, the four have not attended parliament since the first day (25 July).
