A family from Subang Jaya has been under self-imposed lockdown for three full months and still caught Covid-19, according to a report from The Straits Times.
The family had barely left the house. They relied on online grocery services, willing to fork out the extra costs for delivery to be on the safe side.
Since mid-April, the family have only stepped out of the house three times: once, when Noriah’s husband went out to collect work documents. Twice, when Noriah went for her vaccine appointment and to buy bread.
Despite the cautious lifestyle and isolation, the family was devasted to learn that Covid-19 had infected the household: Noriah’s husband and two sons tested positive for the Delta variant of Covid-19.
