Now that we’re in a nationwide MCO and bazaars are no longer allowed to operate, Hari Raya seems to be quite a dreary affair. But it doesn’t have to be, not when the bazaars themselves are moving online for hundred and thousands of Malaysians to celebrate Raya while staying safe.
Lazat Bazaar is a month-long online food festival held on Lazada, aimed to help local small businesses, grocers, and bazaar merchants pivot their business online at zero cost– thanks to Lazada’s Pintar Niaga stimulus package.
An opportunity for the businesses
The Pintar Niaga stimulus package will empower micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with the necessary support, tools, training, and platform to digitalise their business and move it online for better opportunities.
Since they understand that there are barriers of entry that business owners face when it comes to trying to move to a business online, the program helps homegrown entrepreneurs stay afloat by lowering those costs and providing support with Lazada’s data-driven technology and vast logistics network.
All your favourite makans will still be there
Malaysians missing their Ramadan bazaar favourites will be able to place their orders through Lazat Bazaar and get yummy food on the same day!
While currently this only applies to selected locations within Shah Alam, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, and Subang, those who have tried it already love it. Join in and order customer favourites such as putu piring, murtabak, kuih lopes, roti john, and kuih tepung pelita!
In fact, everything you need to buy for Raya can be bought on Lazada. They even noted that grocery sales grew 50% during this time period as people prepared to cook for Raya.
More people tried to buy their clothing online as well, as ‘baju kurung’ ‘baju melayu’ and ‘telekung’ became the top searches on the app while the fashion category also saw nearly 60% increase in sales!
Whethere you’re a business owner looking to move online or someone who is craving for good ol’ Raya celebrations, why not check out Lazat Bazaar and see what you can find?
