Malaysia’s Own Medical Superwoman Is Now On WHO Science Council

Professor Datuk Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman has been appointed as a member of the new World Health Organization (WHO) Science Council!
The new WHO Science Council comprises of international experts from a broad range of disciplines. The aim of the council will be to support WHO in interpreting cutting-edge scientific and medical knowledge, including the the latest advances in technology.
Basically, the WHO Science Council will be the voice of scientific leadership directly advising the international organization about there what, where, when, and hows of high-priority scientific issues and keep an eye on new breakthroughs that can help to directly impact global health.
The responsibility is not light, but Dr Adeeba has proven herself to be a medical superwoman. She already has plenty of accolades in the international health field.
Who is this Malaysian medical superwoman?
Currently, she is the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at University of Malaya and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Yale University, USA.

She holds impressive titles such as being the first ever Asian to become the International AIDS Society President, being a Expert Panel member at the World Health Organization since 2017, and has also moderated a Covid-19 media press conference for renowned director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr Anthony Fauci.
Dr Adeeba herself is humble in her acceptance of the appointment, posting only a short yet heartfelt Tweet on her account.
