83 Covid-19 Clusters Come From The Education Sector Alone, Says MOH
4,868 cases were detected from 1 January until 20 April.

From the period of 1 January 2021 until 20 April 2021, a total of 83 Covid-19 clusters with a total of 4,868 cases have been detected involving the Education Sector, according to the Health Ministry.
In a statement released online, Health Minister Datuk Dr Adham Baba said that out of 83 clusters – 49 were still active with 2,617 cases while 34 clusters with 2,251 cases has ended.

He also said that 39 clusters with 1,420 cases involve the sub-category of Schools/Institutions of the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE).
Meanwhile, 19 clusters with 1,870 cases were identified the sub-category of Higher Education and 25 clusters with 1,578 cases related to the Other Education sub-category.
In his statement, Dr Adham also mentioned that the Ministry has always cooperated with all parties in the education sector in the prevention, control and in dealing with the spread of infection.
When the MOH, either District Health Office or the State Health Department receives a report or notification of a positive case of Covid-19 or Covid-19 cluster, the health team will be mobilized to conduct investigations, contact detection, infection prevention and control measures and risk assessment.
