Rehiring is on the cards for AirAsia after the business is back on its feet, according to its Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.
It’s reported by The Star that the company plans to re-hire their employees who were laid off due to the pandemic and their are confident that they can do so.
We had the tragedy of losing 2,000 staff through Covid-19. Before I retire, I must make sure that I hire everyone back. That is my goal and I am very confident we can do that when flying resumes, supported by our other businesses.

He said that the airline managed to survive mainly because of the flatness of their company structure, meritocracy practice and ability to manage changes.
It was reported last year that both AirAsia and AirAsia X had to retrench 10% of 24,000 employees.
