Two students of the Faculty of Accounting, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) have been listed among the top 10 in the world in The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) examinations last December.
Based on reports from Bernama, the two students are Fatin Najwa Azman, a 22-year-old, fifth semester student in the ACCA program and Putera Aiman Abdul Rashid, 19, a final semester student in the CAT program.
Fatin Najwa won first place in Malaysia and ninth in the world for the Audit and Assurance (AA) examination.
Meanwhile Putera Aiman earned first place in Malaysia and second in the world for the Maintaining Financial Records (FA2) examination.
The university said the success also proves the excellence of the bumiputera community in the field of accounting and can be a catalyst to produce more bumiputera accounting professionals.
UiTM is the first public university in Malaysia to receive the ACCA Platinum Award since July 2011 and aims to produce around 60,000 certified accountants by 2030.
