Covid-19: Record-Breaking 4,275 New Cases & 4,313 Recoveries On 23 Jan
A day after the deadliest day to date.

Malaysian Covid-19 infections recorded a spike of 4,275 new cases on 23 January 2021. This is the highest recorded new daily infections in the country to date.
There were also 7 more deaths today.

However, there were also a record-breaking 4,313 new recoveries today, the highest since the pandemic began.

There are currently 42,769 active cases with 260 patients being treated in ICU wards, and 103 people on ventilators.
This brings the nation’s Covid-19 numbers to 127,019 total infections with 137,109 recovered patients and 667 fatalities.
Most cases were reported in Selangor (1,421), K. Lumpur (548), Sabah (498), and Johor (425), while states in the rest of the country recorded less than 300 new cases.

On 22 January, Malaysia had recorded 18 deaths from Covid-19, the highest daily fatality count during the pandemic.
