B40 & M40 Malaysians To Recieve BNP 2.0 Payments Starting 21 Jan

Phase two of Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) Covid-19 financial aid program or BPN 2.0, will be handed out to Malaysians starting 21 January.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said that payments amounting to RM2.38 billion will be made to 11.6 million eligible applicants from Malaysia’s low-income (B40) and medium-income (M40) group.

He said that around 460,000 new BPN 2.0 applications and appeals made between 15 October to 15 November 2020 will be expedited in line with the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO), Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) and Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) period across the country.

The public can review their BPN 2.0 application status online starting 15 January, HERE.


Reportedly, those in the B40 category can expect their payments to be credited directly into their accounts beginning 21 January while those from the M40 group are expected to receive their payments by 25 January.

Individuals who do not have an active bank account can claim their BPN 2.0 payments at any available Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) outlets nationwide starting 25 January.

Similarly, those in Sabah and Sarawak without bank accounts can expect payments to be made between February and April. The government will provide more details on when, where and how, soon.
