Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has been confirmed positive for Covid-19 after undergoing screenings on 11 January.

The minister will be quarantined and placed under observation by the Health Ministry (MOH). Everyone who had close contact with him from 8 to 11 January are advised to proceed to the nearest district health office to be tested.

Hamzah has apologized for any issues he might have caused concerning his diagnosis and thanked those who pray for his wellbeing.

Earlier, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba revealed that a third Cabinet minister was confirmed positive for coronavirus, however, did not disclose their identity and said that the person was currently being treated by MOH at an available facility.

Adham Baba explains that all Cabinet ministers have undergone Covid-19 screenings and said that MOH will proceed with risk assessments to determine if those who tested negative would need to be quarantined.
