Covid-19: All-Time High Today (6 Jan) With 2,593 New Cases In Malaysia

Most were from Selangor with 965 new cases.

Malaysia recorded 2,593 daily Covid-19 cases today, 6 January 2021, the highest since the pandemic hit the country a year ago.

Selangor recorded the highest number of new cases today with 965 cases, whereby 605 infections were from existing clusters and 124 infections from new clusters – Dataran Utas Cluster, Casa Permai Cluster, Medan Jasa Cluster and Tasik Utama Cluster.

Johor comes in second with 571 cases, followed by Sabah with 405 cases.

Covid-19 clusters that recorded the highest increase today are:

  • Seri Lanang Cluster (504) – Klang, Gombak, Kuala Selangor and Petaling
  • Bukit Pasir Cluster (283) – Muar, Johor
  • Teratai Cluster (85) – Klang, Selangor

Four more deaths were also recorded today, bringing Malaysia’s Covid-19 death toll to 513.

Malaysia currently has 24,347active infections.
