Unfortunate news for a number of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling residents today as a landslide at Damansara Utama last night (29 Dec) led to a broken distribution pipe – which means it’s an unscheduled water cut.

Air Selangor announced that 43 areas in the Petaling region and 20 areas in Kuala Lumpur will be facing dry taps today.

Though repair works for the broken pipes began last night, it is expected to take up to 30 hours and fully complete at 6am tomorrow (31 Dec). Air Selangor projects that water supply will be fully restored by 6pm, 1st January 2021.

Air Selangor assures that it will mobillise water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to hospitals and dialysis centres.

Air Selangor fully understands the consumers’ need for clean water, especially with the increase in Covid-19 cases and the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order by taking all efforts to minimise the impact of disruption on affected consumers.

Alternatively, consumers can get water supply assistance at the Pusat Khidmat Setempat (PKS) in SS7 and Jalan Harapan, Seksyen 17.
