[UPDATE] Air Selangor has told NST that the water supply will be coming back from 3pm onwards.
Based on the report, it will be restored in stages with the complete recovery expected to happen by midnight.
If you’re living in Klang Valley and facing water disruptions today, that’s probably due to the recent pollution that affected the raw water supply in Sungai Selangor last night.
Both the water treatment plants in Rantau Panjang and Sungai Selangor had to close down in the late hours in the evening due to the pollution but both were operational again by 5 am.
This is after both plants recorded a reading of 0 TON.
Air Selangor said Rantau Panjang had to shut down at 11:30 PM while operations in Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plants 1, 2 and 3 was halted at 1:00 AM.
The state’s water supplier also said that the disruption affects 1,274 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.
