Staff at Kajang Hospital were told that they would not receive any on-call and Covid-19 allowance unless they register and use the MySejahtera app, revealed healthcare news portal CodeBlue.
The internal hospital memo “Second reminder: Instruction on the use of the MySejahtera application for entry screenings by all staff at each department and unit at Kajang Hospital” sighted by CodeBlue directed that staff must submit their MySejahtera entry history with their allowance claims.

To ensure compliance with this instruction, for your attention, the entry history from the MySejahtera application must be submitted with each on-call or Covid-19 allowance claim until such a time that will be informed later. Refusal to do this will cause those claims stated above to not be considered and disciplinary action can be taken against staff.

In the memo, Kajang Hospital director Dr Abdul Ghani Abdul Jalil cited Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah’s instructions that strongly compelled the use of MySejahtera at all government and private healthcare facilities.
Dr Abdul Ghani then stressed that the hospital management was taking the use of the contact tracing app seriously for all staff due to past incidence of Covid-19 clusters with health care workers as index cases.
He also gave examples on the impact of a partial or total lockdown if medical staff were infected with Covid-19.

Not the first time…
Earlier in October, Kajang Hospital was embroiled in controversy after an anonymous source at the hospital told CodeBlue that staff had not received their RM600 monthly Covid-19 allowance since July.
Selangor Health Director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman later explained that the allowance was restricted to select healthcare workers at Kajang Hospital after the Kajang district became a green zone in June.
Kajang Hospital is a designated Covid-19 screening hospital.
