The police will be questioning Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari soon over a breach of self-quarantine during a water cut on 4th October that left over 300,000 homes dry in the state.
Who said what: Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director (investigation/legal) DCP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said an investigation is ongoing on Amirudin’s Twitter account where he posted an update of the water disruption at Air Selangor’s Semenyih Water Treatment Plant. Police say that the Selangor MB will be called up to give his statement, along with several witnesses.
What you need to know: In the offending tweet, Amirudin apologised for breaching the self-quarantine and said he needed to do it to check on the water pollution issue at Sungai Semenyih on 4 October. He also assured that he took all the protective steps necessary, including wearing a face mask and face shield. Amirudin is currently the Chairman of Air Selangor.
Terpaksa langgar pantang demi tanggani isu ini, namun segala langkah termasuk gunakan pendinding muka

How did it get here: The Selangor MB was instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days beginning 28 September after returning from Sabah. The next day, he revealed that his Covid-19 test came back negative. Amirudin also explained that the negative test result meant that he didn’t need to continue self-quarantine, as per the National Security Council’s directive on 29 September, but opted to continue the 14 day quarantine and took another Covid-19 test on 4 October.
