Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah is urging Malaysians to stay united to beat Covid-19.
In the message shared on social media this morning, Dr Noor Hisham also urged Malaysians to learn from the devastating Covid-19 aftermath of the Sabah State Elections held at the end of September.
We need unity and togetherness to fight this war against Covid-19, not against each other. Our frontliners have been enduring on the ground for the last 10 months 24/7. Mental & physical fatigue setting in. Some are prepared to throw in the towel. Please learn from PRN Sabah.

However the reactions to his call for unity has received some mixed reactions from the general public.
Some were in agreement with the Health DG on staying united, while others pointed out that the general public was largely compliant with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in place.
Malaysian need to stop the blaming. Memanglah politician yang menjadi punca kenaikan kes and all, tapi benda dah jadi. Take action, move forward.

Ni macam ex dah putus tak habis habis nak ulang.
Anyway, tq sir for you and ur team effort. Keep strong!
Sir @DGHisham we all feel for the hard toils of our ever endearing frontliners. But because of all this politicking, we Rakyat are all also feeling very exhausted from the daily twists and turns of their whims and fancies. We have been adhering to strict SOPs, we are behind all

Malaysia’s Covid-19 third wave was spurred by the Sabah State Elections that led to an explosion of cases across the state.
Several travellers returning to Peninsular Malaysia from Sabah during the election season also led to the formation of at least 27 clusters across several states.
Yesterday, Sabah announced that their hospital beds are now virtually full at 99.5% capacity.
The State Government is now forced to decide which Covid-19 patients are to be admitted to its medical facilities for treatment and who should self-isolate.
As of 23 October, Sabah has 6,827 active cases with 16 red zones.
