4 New Covid-19 Clusters Detected In Klang Valley Today

Almost 150 new cases recorded from Selangor and KL today.

Out of the 8 new clusters detected today, four were identified in the Klang Valley, revealed Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The four clusters are as below:

1. Cluster Long – Hulu Langat and Titiwangsa

The index case for this cluster (Case 16, 746) was screened on 12 October after exhibiting symptoms. He is currently receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Close contact tracing revealed another 17 positive cases. As of 21 October, 301 individuals have been screened, with 260 being negative and the other 23 are still waiting for results.

2. Cluster Cahaya – Petaling & Tampin

Index case (20, 394) screened on 16 October for exhibiting symptoms. He too has been sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

Close contact tracing found 17 more positive cases. As of 21 Oct, 84 individuals have been screened. Out of the total, 3 were negative and the other 63 are still waiting results.

3. Cluster Bah Kota – Sepang & Seremban

Index case (Case 19, 788) tested positive on 14 October after being screened for showing symptoms as well.

Close contact tracing revealed another 9 positive cases. As of 21 October, 171 individuals have been screened, 161 are still waiting for their results.

4. Cluster Melati – Titiwangsa & Klang

Index case (18, 002) tested positive on 14 October after being screened for having symptoms . The patient has been sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

As of 21 October, 8 more individuals have tested positive. As many as 24 have been screened and 15 individuals are still waiting results.

A total of 116 new cases were recorded in Selangor, and 26 new cases in Kuala Lumpur today.
