Covid-19: 629 New Cases, Third Biggest Spike In Malaysia
This is the fourth time new Covid-19 cases rose above 600.

629 new Covid-19 cases were reported today, making it the third biggest spike in Malaysia after 691 new cases were reported on 6 October and 660 new cases reported on 13 and 14 October.
At the daily Covid-19 update,Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah explained that 627 of the new cases were from local infections with Sabah recording a whopping 489 new infections.
Selangor records the second highest number of new cases at 50 infections, followed by Pulau Pinang with 33 new infections.

Dr Noor Hisham also revealed that the Health Ministry has detected three new clusters:
- Cluster Merbok in Kuala Langat, Petaling and Kuala Selangor in Selangor – 8 infections
- Cluster Buntar in Kedah, Perak and Putrajaya – 5 infections
- Cluster Lekir in Perak – 4 infections
Six deaths were recorded today, bringing the virus death toll to 176.
