The Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal will undergo a 14-day quarantine after coming into close contact with other parties who tested positive for Covid-19.
He had taken part in a series of meetings with a Petaling District Medical Officer regarding the planning and operation of Covid-19 within the Petaling Jaya area.
The Medical Officer had also previously met with the security manager of the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, regarding the outbreak of Covid-19 cases within the workers’ dorm at the golf club. The security manager later tested positive for Covid-19 as well.
As a precaution, ACP Nik Ezanee will be undergoing self-quarantine until the results of the Covid-19 screening of the medical officer is known.
He held a press conference for members of the media regarding the Emergency Movement Control Order (EMCO) situation at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort just hours before the security manager tested positive.
As a result, reporters present at the press conference have also decided to self-quarantine.
