The Royal Malaysian Police have decided to postpone their appointment with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, which was meant to be tomorrow, to a later date.

Federal Criminal Investigation Department director Commissioner Datuk Huzir Mohamed said today that Anwar had been asked to give his statement regarding a list of 121 members of parliament (MPs) allegedly supporting his move to take over the government.

According to Bernama, the list of supporters had been shared widely on the internet and resulted in several Umno MPs lodging police reports to deny their alleged support of Anwar.

So far, six police reports have been received and police are investigating further on the claim which has been widely reported by the mass media.

Huzir confirmed that an investigation into the list has been opened under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

It seems that Anwar requested to meet with the police at 9am on the same day that he was granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Anwar had earlier been asked to give his statement to police at 11am today but his private secretary informed that he (Anwar) would only be available at 9am tomorrow but it is postponed to another date.

Last week, Anwar confirmed that he had secured a meeting with the King on Tuesday (13 October) to deliver his statement and show proof that he has the majority to form the next federal government.
