A total of 563 new Covid-19 cases were announced at today’s press conference held by Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
This brings the number of active cases to 5,039, all of which are isolated in the hospitals. Our total number of Covid-19 cases until today is 16,220 cases.

Within the Klang Valley, Selangor sees 69 new cases, while KL sees 28 new cases.
Of the new cases today, 498 of the cases are Malaysians, while 64 cases are non-Malaysians. Only 1 was an imported case from a travelling Malaysian returning from Indonesia.
Today, 109 cases have recovered but there has been 2 additional deaths.
This means that as of today, 159 people in Malaysia have succumbed to Covid-19 and 11,022 have recovered.
Regarding new clusters, 6 were detected in total; 2 in KL, while Sabah, Selangor, Johor, and Putrajaya had a new cluster each.
As to why such a drastic move was taken in putting the Klang Valley under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), Dr Noor Hisham noted that there has been a consistent increase in cases all across the Klang Valley, and they cannot wait for yellow zones to turn red before taking action.
