Japan To Remove Travel Ban For Malaysia Next Month

Japan is planning to remove a ban on overseas travel to Malaysia and 11 other countries next month.
Reuters reports that the Japanese government will recommend that travellers refrain from unnecessary and non-urgent visits to those 12 countries.
The new rules apply to returning Japanese and long-term visa holders, whereby some will be exempted from quarantine requirements, depending on airport testing capacity.
It is also reported that there will be a cap in the number of exemptions and that arrivals must submit an itinerary and negative PCR test. They will also not be allowed to use public transportation upon arrival.
The 12 countries that will be removed from Japan’s overseas travel ban are:
- Malaysia
- China
- Taiwan
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Vietnam
Currently, Japan has a two-way travel bubble with South Korea and Vietnam and allows entry for long-term residents from any country.
