Despite being under home quarantine, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah will continue with his Covid-19 press conferences streamed from his residence.

He will go ‘live’ on the Health Ministry’s (MOH) Facebook page alone without the presence of media.

Dr Noor Hisham even told Malay Mail that he had already conducted his daily early morning meeting and even the regional WHO meeting via video conferencing.

The Health Director-General is expected to conduct the Covid-19 updates from his home for the next two weeks while under mandatory quarantine following exposure to a Covid-19 positive minister.

In a statement released yesterday, Dr Noor Hisham and the infected minister had attended a high-level government meeting at the Prime Minister’s Department on 3 October.

The meeting is believed to be a special National Security Council (MKN) meeting on Covid-19 chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at Bangunan Putra Perdana in Putrajaya.

Everyone in attendance has been screened for the virus and instructed to undergo 14-days mandatory home quarantine, while the infected minister, though asymptomatic, has been admitted to the hospital.

Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri later admitted that he tested positive for Covid-19 shortly after the statement was issued.
