Malaysia could be seeing a new wave of Covid-19 infections, said Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah following the recent spike in cases.

At the Covid-19 briefing yesterday, 1 October, Dr Noor Hisham explained that looking at the data of increased cases, it points to the beginning of a new wave.

With regards to the projection, if we look at the chart, we have increased cases lately, and that probably is the beginning of a new wave.

Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, Health Director General.

The Health Director-General urged the public to do their part in breaking the chain of infection by adhering to the Health Ministry’s SOPs, such as maintaining hygiene, wearing a face mask and practising physical distancing.

However, the onus is on us whether we can flatten the curve again. It is up to us now to flatten the curve. We have done it before, and we can do it again.

Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, Health Director General.

Malaysia currently has 1,334 active Covid-19 cases.
