After the latest Covid-19 scare with multiple shopping malls in the Klang Valley reported infection cases over the past few days, Malaysia Shopping Mall Association (PPK) has upped the ante to reduce further the risks for visitors and staff members.

The association issued a statement saying that they will:

  • conduct complete sanitation and proper disinfection
  • deep cleaning of areas in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Health.

Safety for all staff, tenants, patrons, visitors and shoppers is of primary concern and shopping malls are all following the accepted SOPs. These include contact tracing, monitoring temperature, wearing of masks, providing hand sanitisers at mall entrances & other strategic spots for shoppers and also for staff.

The association also said with contact tracing being done and the hand sanitisation process being conducted twice – once through the mall entrance and another time at the outlet entrance, this can help to reduce the risk for Covid-19.

News about coronavirus affecting prominent malls around Kuala Lumpur surfaced recently which has been a case for concern for many.
