Klang Valley is experiencing an unscheduled water disruption today as four water treatment plants in Selangor have reportedly been shut down due to pollution.

Syarikat Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) reportedly detected pollution in raw water resources this morning and shut down the Rantau Panjang water treatment plant (WTP) at 7.15am.

Later at 9am, operations at phases 1, 2 and 3 (WTP SSP1, WTP SSP2 and WTP SSP3) were also suspended.

Affected locations include Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.

Air Selangor corporate communication head Elina Baseri released a statement saying they were currently working with the Selangor Water Management Authority to resolve the matter.
