Khairuddin Called To Give Statement At Bukit Aman Over Breaking Quarantine

Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali has been told to give his statement at the Bukit Aman Police Headquarters today regarding his failure to follow quarantine orders.

What you need to know: According to Malay Mail, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador confirmed that the police have opened an investigation paper over Khairuddin’s failure to comply with quarantine orders.

Meanwhile, Federal Criminal Investigation Department deputy director (Investigation/Legislation) DCP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed that Khairuddin is to give his statement on the case tomorrow.

How it got here: Khairuddin received a lot of flak after it was discovered that he failed to adhere to his quarantine order after returning from Turkey on 7 July. Following his return, Khairuddin visited several places, including Parliament and the Istana.

The Health Ministry issued a RM1,000 compound against Khairuddin on 7 August and the Minister has since paid the fine.

Yesterday (25 Aug), Senior Minister (Defense) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that Khairuddin’s quarantine issue had been handed over to the police for investigation.
