Govt Working To Fill 440,000 Vacancies Left By Foreign Workers & Help Msians Who Lost Jobs In Singapore

The government is looking for solutions for Malaysians who were retrenched in Singapore due to Covid-19, said Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.
He said a meeting was held with the country’s Ministry of Manpower to solve the issue.
The government is always concerned about the fate of Malaysians working in other countries. Not only in Singapore as we are in a health crisis (Covid-19). We (the government) will take a positive step towards addressing the issue. They can return to Malaysia and undergo the Covid-19 screening test. The government will find the best way to provide employment opportunities to them.

He also said that employment opportunities will be given to locals to fill jobs left by 440,000 foreign workers who left the country.
According to statistics, foreign workers has dropped from 1.98 million in January to 1.54 million in May 2020.
