New Covid-19 Cluster Forces Sarawakian Hospital To Close

Sentosa Hospital in Kuching, Sarawak will be closed to the public as it is the epicenter of the Covid-19 Sentosa cluster.
What you need to know: The Sentosa cluster had a total of 24 Covid-19 cases. Random tests will be conducted for the residents living in the surrounding area. Additionally, contact tracing will be intensified for all those involved in the cluster.
Patients who tested positive for the virus were referred to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment while all those who have come into contact with them have been ordered to undergo self-quarantine for 14 days.
The Sentosa Hospital staff will have to quarantine within the hospital and they are not allowed to return to their homes for 14 days.
Who said what: State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas made the announcement, citing that all hospital staff are under quarantine, which led to the closure of the hospital.
Why it matters: The second Covid-19 wave is a legitimate concern, as new clusters are popping up alarmingly fast again. While Malaysia started to celebrate zero local transmissions just a few weeks ago, it appears that this fight is not over yet.
