WYNTD: Govt To Amend Face Mask Laws

The government wants to amend laws regarding wearing face masks in public to reduce the risk of Covid-19.
What you need to know: The government is looking at gazetting the order on the compulsory wearing of face masks in public places.
Previously, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government was considering making it compulsory as the threat of Covid-19 is still not over.
When is it happening: Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said the authorities are discussing to set a gazette date as soon possible to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
According to reports, it will be announced once the related regulation is finalised.
Why is it happening: Covid-19 cases are increasing globally, including a recent climb in Malaysia, and several countries such as Singapore have made it compulsory to wear face masks outdoors.
