Shopping Malls Can Limit Number Of Visitors If Necessary, Says Government

Following the rise in Covid-19 cases across the country, the government is giving shopping mall operators autonomy to set their own limits on the number of visitors allowed onto the premises.
Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakub said the government won’t force malls to place limits on the number of visitors they could accommodate during any given time but welcomed operators who feel they need to do so.
This would mean there might be a chance that your favorite shopping mall would decide to only allow a limited number of people into its outlets at a time, for the sake of hygiene and social distancing.
Though visitation limits are optional, other “new normal” standard operating procedures (SOP) still apply, and mall rats would have to abide by mandatory check-ins, temperature scans, and other practices on their shopping spree.
