As Malaysia progresses further into the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period, the public can now return to enjoying live concerts, shows, and stage performances in not so large crowds.

According to Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Malaysians are now allowed to host and attend indoor concerts, gigs, musicals, recitals, and the likes with a crowd of more than 250 people.

Essentially, Malaysians would get to enjoy live performances and shows as long as Covid-19 guidelines are followed to a tee.

Guidelines for indoor events would include limited or reduced showtimes, attendance limits – depending on the overall capacity of a particular event space where social distancing can be maintained -, mandatory hygiene and disinfecting procedures as well as admittance restrictions against children below the age of 12 and the elderly above 60-years-old.

Meanwhile, the minister mentions that the authorities were still discussing standard operating procedures (SOP) for outdoor events and mass gatherings such as for in-stadium concerts, sporting events, and the likes.
