Recovered Covid-19 patients would need to get themselves checked every three months to monitor their health.

According to Health Director-General Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah since there’s no medical evidence guaranteeing that recovered Covid-19 patients could not get reinfected, the Health Ministry (MOH) would be periodically checking up on their antibody levels and lung health for changes or damage.

As the DG had explained previously, just because a person has recovered from the coronavirus does not mean that they cannot get reinfected a second or even a third time.

Furthermore, Dr. Noor Hisham elaborates that predicting what would happen to former Covid-19 patients was difficult as the pandemic is relatively new and the international community, Malaysia included, have only been encountering it for less than a year.

The world was first made aware of the novel coronavirus in December 2019 when cases were identified in Wuhan, China. As of June 27, the virus can now be found in almost every country on the planet with over 9.9 million reported cases, 5.3 million patient recoveries, and more than 496,000 deaths.
