Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today that fitting rooms for clothing and trying on shoes are now allowed during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period.

He revealed that a special Cabinet meeting made the decision today following the Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP)’s appeal and advice of the Health Ministry as there are no postive Covid-19 issues at shopping complexes to date.

The Cabinet meeting today has agreed to allow the fitting of clothing, including shoes, at premises that sell ready-made articles of clothing. You can now try new clothes to buy at fitting rooms.

However, the Senior Minister recommended that customers wear their own socks or stockings instead of shared ones when trying on shoes at the retail outlets (because doing otherwise is pretty gross even without the threat of Covid-19).
