The Ministry of Education (MOE), together with the Rural Development Ministry and National Unity Ministry has finalised the preschool reopening management guidelines.

Yesterday, the ministries said in a joint statement that the guidelines were prepared in consultation with the Health Ministry and the National Security Council, explaining that the guidelines should be read together with the school reopening guidelines issued by MOE on 4 June.

The Special Ministerial Meeting on the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) on June 15 has agreed to reopen preschools and kindergartens from July 1.

The guideline includes the roles and responsibilities of the school’s administrator, teachers, as well as parents, in keeping children safe from Covid-19 infection.

It also requires schools to implement safety measures such as daily temperature screening of students and staff, social distancing, frequent hand washing, the use of face masks and daily disinfection of the premises.

At the time of writing, TRP could only find the Bahasa Malaysia version of the guidelines. You can check it out here.

The guidelines apply to all government and private preschools and kindergartens.
