Despite the arduous journey in leading the country’s Covid-19 fight for months, Health Director General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah still managed to squeeze in some time to perform surgery.
Sharing pictures of the operating team decked in surgical scrubs, face masks and face shields, Dr Noor Hisham said that he found time to perform a thyroid removal surgery (thyroidectomy) for a patient diagnosed with right dominant multinodular goitre this morning.
Indeed it was refreshing to be in the operating room again to calm my “withdrawal symptoms” and meet all my OT staff. I was also briefed on the workflow and SOP for Covid-19 positive patients that have to undergo surgery.
