Health Director-General Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that studies are still being conducted around the world to find a credible vaccine for the Covid-19 coronavirus and this process could take at least a year before one could be rolled out.
The DG explains that the ministry would study the side effect of any identified Covid-19 vaccine before it decides to make the public take it.
Previously, MOH revealed that Malaysia may be a candidate testing ground for a Covid-19 vaccine that’s being made in China.
At the moment there is still no approved vaccines or medication for Covid-19.
Scientists around the world have been working hard at finding a vaccine for the coronavirus pandemic with experts saying that it might take years, even decades, to successfully produce and distribute.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) had declared the outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) and are working with global experts to accelerate research and response towards the deadly outbreak.
Globally, the Covid-19 has infected more than 6.8 million people and caused closed to 400,000 deaths.
