A hypermarket in Shah Alam (Section 13) has been ordered to suspend its business for eight days after it was reported that the premise did not comply to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

According to authorities, the store will be closed until 8 June.

Selangor Health Department (JKNS) director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman said the movement should be taken as a lesson for other businesses to follow the guidelines set by authorities.

When asked by the media if hypermarket owner would be compounded for failing to follow the SOP, Dr Sha’ari said they are conducting investigations.

He also said that business operators should use the SELangkah mobile application to help with tracing if there’s an outbreak at their premises.

Besides using the app, business operators must ensure that the SOP is observed which includes social distancing, limiting number of customers and recording their body temperature.
